The Med-Alert First Responder Products

Seconds can end a life... MED-ALERT helps you save it!

Being the first responder at an accident or serious illness is a crucial responsibility, often shouldered by individuals who aren’t doctors or paramedics.

Med-Alert International Corp. offers a program to train your employees as effective first responders in medical emergencies at your business. It’s important to note that 97% of all accidents or illnesses requiring emergency attention fall into a “breathing” category.

Therefore, quick access to the Med-Alert emergency oxygen unit is vital for stabilizing the victim until advanced medical help arrives. Providing emergency oxygen within 1 to 1&1/2 minutes can significantly reduce the risk of brain damage due to oxygen starvation from shock. The Med-Alert oxygen unit meets or exceeds all Federal guidelines for emergency oxygen use without a prescription and is user-friendly, designed for individuals with no medical background.

In cases of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), where the heart has stopped, the victim requires defibrillation. If defibrillation is administered within the first few minutes, the victim’s chance of survival approaches 80%. Med-Alert is a national distributor for Phillip’s HeartStart™ Automatic External Defibrillators (A.E.D.), providing access to life-saving equipment for businesses and organizations.

ADVANTAGES OF THE MED-ALERT PROGRAM'S OXYGEN UNIT

  1. Additional Insured Coverage: With $1,000,000 in additional insured coverage, all employees are protected during the use of the Emergency Oxygen Equipment. This coverage is in addition to the five million dollars of PRODUCTS liability coverage provided by the manufacturer and the one million dollars of PROFESSIONAL liability acquired by Med-Alert, covering the information taught in the classes.
  2. Lightweight and Portable: The emergency oxygen unit is remarkably light, weighing only 9 pounds. It comes in a soft portable case that can be easily slung over the shoulder, keeping hands free to carry a First Aid Kit or open doors on the way to the victim.
  3. Constant-Reading Gauge: Unlike other units that may show as “empty” until turned on, the Med-Alert unit features a constant-reading gauge. Manufactured by Erie Medical, Inc., this gauge is the same type used on Air Force high-altitude equipment, ensuring accurate readings
  1. Single-Use Masks: The masks and hoses are designated for single-victim use only, eliminating the risk of cross-contamination. Each mask is sealed in a sanitary bag and marked with a bright orange sticker that must be torn to access the mask. Once the seal is broken, employees are instructed to immediately notify Med-Alert Response to have the mask, hose, and cylinder replaced.
  2. Consistent Training: Med-Alert provides on-location training classes at each property, ensuring that all employees receive the same high-quality training. By maintaining central control of class curriculum and instruction techniques, Med-Alert ensures superior training quality at all locations. They do not use independent contractors to teach their classes.
  3. Centralized Account Management: All information regarding each individual property, including equipment, training, and service, is cross-linked on a central computer system in the Houston Corporate office. This system enables prompt responses regarding specific properties, groups of properties, or the account as a whole, accessible through their National “800” Hotline.

MIC Responder Station Wall Mount
This is our basic emergency response setup.  It is to be used in any accident or injury where the victim is still breathing on their own. This system is designed to be wall mounted for easy access. The MIC Emergency Oxygen unit is designed for use by anyone so that life saving oxygen can administered to a victim of accident or injury.  The “First Responder” 1st Aid Kit is not your basic 1st Aid kit! This portable kit contains individually packaged components ready for use in cases of burns, eye injury, bleeding etc.

The contents and use of these components are covered in our Training Sessions. Replacement components are available by contacting us at our 800 number or by filling out our Contact Form.

Philips HeartStart FRx

The Philips HeartStart FRx Defibrillator is designed to be easy to use, rugged and reliable for those who get there first.  On the scene with law enforcement, on the field with student athletes or on the job with employees, the FRx Defibrillator is the solution for treating Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) from ventricular fibrillation in environments and conditions too demanding for many other defibrillators.
