Are the Med-Alert family of brands training programs approved by OSHA?

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) does not approve first aid or CPR training programs, instructors, or trainees. However... our programs help organizations comply with OSHA requirements for workplace health and safety training.

Are the Med-Alert family of brands training programs nationally recognized?

Yes. Our programs are accepted as equivalent to the AHA and American Red Cross (ARC) by state regulatory authorities, the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), the Department of Homeland Security/United States Coast Guard. HSI is nationally accredited by the Continuing Education Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).

Does the Basic First Responder Training Classes follow American Heart Association® (AHA) guidelines?

Yes. The Basic First Responder Training Classes follow the most recent International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) as well as the AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
